Account Setup, Billing & Insurance Questions

  • What does it take for me to rent a unit from Metro? If we don’t have a relationship with you already, we ask that you fill out our credit application and fax or email it to the office you’ll be doing business with.
  • How much does the product I want cost? Product prices vary widely based on rental term, customization and availability. Please use our quote request form or Call Us and we’ll get you a price right away.
  • Does Metro sell or finance this equipment? Though we are primarily a rental operation, we are willing to price a unit at a customer’s request. Call Us or use our Quote Request form and explain what you are looking for and we’ll get back to you.
  • What insurance requirements do you have? We require any company who is renting an office product to carry a general liability policy with a $1,000,000 minimum.
  • What are your billing terms? Our bills are due upon receipt. We bill in the early days of each rental period so you pay for your current month’s use, we do not bill in arrears.
  • Do you require a deposit? Depending on the equipment ordered (new equipment, customizations, etc.) and our familiarity with your company, we may need a deposit to begin the rental.
  • When do you begin billing me rent? We send our first bill as soon as the equipment is delivered. We always bill for the current rental timeframe and do not require rent payment before delivery.
  • Do you prorate your rent? Some products are prorated and billed from the first of the month. Some items are billed in monthly increments.
  • I have equipment like yours that I want to sell or trade in. Does Metro buy used equipment? Occasionally Metro does buy used equipment. Call Us if you are interested in selling something we may want to own.

Delivery, Setup, Permitting & Utilities Questions

  • How long does it take to get my equipment delivered after I place an order? We can almost always have equipment delivered and setup within 3 business days and in more urgent situations as soon as the same business day.
  • How far out will Metro deliver? Our facilities are generally able to deliver throughout the states in which they are located.  We are more than willing to work with custormers for out of state deliveries.
  • Who is responsible for permitting? The customer is responsible for all permitting.
  • Do I have codes in my area? If you are using the product as a jobsite office code issues rarely apply. If you are planning on using the equipment as a commercial office inside a municipality you may want to check with the city to know what they require. A commercial office will likely need to be set up according to local codes and requirements.
  • Is there any site preparation necessary? Where can a unit go? We will need access to a level, compacted surface large enough for the equipment to be set up.
  • What is involved in setting up an office unit on my site? Though the specific work can vary depending on surface condition, in general we spot (place) the trailer, block (build piers under) the trailer, level the trailer, then anchor the trailer. If the customer has ordered them we then install skirting and/or steps.
  • What are the electrical requirements for your trailers? Each office unit has its own electrical subpanel.  Smaller trailers generally have 60 or 80 amp subpanels. Larger trailers have up to 150 amp subpanels. Make sure you ask us about the specific product you need to rent.
  • Will Metro connect utilities to the trailer? The customer is responsible for bringing all utilities to the trailer.
  • Can I have someone else pickup or relocate the unit? Under certain conditions and with our permission, Metro will allow a company with proper equipment and insurance to pickup and setup our office products. Please contact us to discuss these details.
  • What if I cannot be at the location for the delivery or pickup? We require the customer or an authorized agent be onsite for us to deliver or pickup equipment.
  • How do I schedule a return pickup for my equipment? Call one of our friendly agents to arrange for equipment pickup.

Product, Customization & Maintenance Questions

  • I need specialized equipment I don’t see listed on this site. Can Metro help me? Yes. We have provided bathroom units, event trailers, sleeper trailers and other unique products. We can create a solution for you. Call Us or use our Quote Request Form and we’ll do everything we can to help.
  • Can Metro customize a unit for me? How will that work? We can start with your plans or ours and modify or build new to make sure you get the product you need. Call Us or use our Quote Request Form to tell us what you’re looking for.
  • Can I modify my equipment once I have started my lease? Metro has on staff carpenters that can make necessary alterations once the equipment is on your site, however customizations and modifications are much easier and more convenient for you when requested and completed before the product is delivered.
  • Can your trailers be used for residential needs? In general residential building specifications and setup requirements are very different and our products are built for commercial use.
  • What if I notice a small leak when it rains? Call us immediately – we’ll get someone onsite to repair the issue as quickly as possible. You can help speed this process up if you can identify the location of the leak and clear the area.
  • Is routine maintenance and cleaning included in my lease? No. The customer is responsible for regular maintenance and cleaning.
  • Do your trailers include heat and air? Yes. All our office units are insulated, heated and cooled.
  • My HVAC thermostat is not working correctly. Can you send someone out? Some units are battery operated – if your thermostat contains a battery, try a new battery – if your unit does not contain a battery or changing the battery does not work, call us.
  • What security products do you offer? We can provide security bars for windows and doors at an additional cost.
  • Do you provide phone or data jacks? Trailers do not come from the factory with phone or data lines installed. If you need these, you will need to have them installed – the company providing your phone service will usually install the necessary wiring and jacks. Many of our used trailers have installations remaining from a previous customer that you may be able to use.
  • Are your trailers ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant? Smaller office trailers are not large enough to contain handicap accessible restrooms. Most of our larger trailer trailers are ADA compliant. As each product and application varies, please ask us about your specific needs.
  • Are your bathrooms self contained? No. All plumbing is stubbed through the floor and ready to be connected to your waste recepticle, septic system or public sewer.
  • Do you have holding tanks for the waste water? No. We can provide you with a list of companies that provide and service these tanks for sites without sewer or septic system hookups.
